Mediation

Mediation consists of the following:

  • A professional mediator will arrange a conference between you and your neighbour.
  • The conference would also be in a neutral venue.
  • The aim is to make your neighbour understand your viewpoint and vice versa.
  • Mediators may also recommend concrete compromises and approaches to addressing the problem.
  • Mediation is financed by the budget but does not require the statute.
  • Mediation is free and is often a success.
  • It’s voluntary, though, so your neighbour might not want to go.
